2018 Gifts in the Gallery Artist Application

Thank you for your interest in selling your work in Artistry’s 2017 Gifts in the Gallery, taking place December 5 – 19, 2018. Gifts in the Gallery is a boutique-style holiday sale located in the beautifully decorated Inez Greenberg Gallery in the Bloomington Center for the Arts. Last year’s saw more than 7,000 attendees and over $50,000 in total sales.

The kickoff celebration, “A Festive Reception", on December 5 opens the sale with live music, a cash bar, appetizers, and door prizes. Gifts in the Gallery will coincide with other events held in the Bloomington Center for the Arts, including the City of Bloomington's popular indoor Farmer's Market. Our goal is to make participation in  Gifts in the Gallery as easy as possible for our artists. To this end Artistry will set up the sale, merchandise all items, and handle all sales transactions including the collection and payment of Minnesota sales tax. Artistry will retain 35% of the sales. Selected artists are responsible for labeling all items with a vendor number (provided) and price as well as dropping off and picking up inventory on the dates listed. Artistry is not responsible or liable for stolen, lost, or damaged merchandise.

To Apply (Between June 1 – August 24):

1. Complete the online application through CaFE , including a brief statement (1000 characters or less) describing what you plan to sell, the price range of items, and why you think your work would be a good fit for the Gifts in the Gallery holiday sale.

2. Upload 5 images representative of the work you intend to sell (.jpg format; 1200 pixels or larger on the longest side; less than 5 MB file size). You will be asked to provide a description and retail price for each image. We recommend images of individual items that show a consistency in the quality and variety of work. Professionally shot images are also recommended.

3. Submit a $15 non-refundable application fee online via credit card or by mailing a check to Artistry. A review panel will jury and select approximately 60 local and regional artists to sell their high quality gifts.

Applications open: June 1
Entry Deadline: Friday, August 24 (11:00 p.m. CST)
Acceptance Notification: by 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 14
Delivery of Artwork: Friday, November 30, 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. or Saturday, Dec. 1, 9:00 a.m. - noon
Show Dates: Decembe 5 – 19, 2018
Festive Reception: Wednesday, December 5, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Pick Up Remaining Work: Wednesday December 19, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. or Thurs. December 20, 9:00 am - noon.
