At the Schneider Theater...
Yeston & Kopit's Phantom
October 16 – November 14, 2015
Directed by Karen Weber
Meet the phantom you’ve never known! Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel, The Phantom of the Opera, has inspired numerous works for the stage and screen. Artistry is pleased to offer our audiences the chance to experience the rarely-produced adaptation, Yeston & Kopit’s Phantom. Join us for an evening of extraordinary musical theater that is:
Most authentic to Leroux’s novel. Yeston & Kopit explore the depths of the Phantom’s character and illuminate his humanity in ways that create an intimate, deeply moving theater experience.
Filled with lush, elegant music that evokes “musical theater’s golden past” (New York Times). Composer Maury Yeston’s music echoes an earlier, classic age of musical theater, with soaring and melodic songs.
Artistry at its best. See William Gilness* (last appearing here as Javert in Les Misérables) as the Phantom, hear the passionate score played by a 20-piece orchestra, and be transported to 1890s Paris through the magic of our accomplished designers.
