Artist Statement
Thomasina Topbear, of City Mischief Murals, is a self-taught Santee Dakota & Oglala Lakota muralist. This mural depicts the beauty and fragility of North America’s indigenous plants and pollinators. The water element is woven throughout the design as a dedication to the surrounding waters of Bloomington. All are natural elements that must be protected.
