Known for realistic acrylic and watercolor paintings, Macharia draws inspiration from their youth in Kenya and the native wildlife they encountered there. This new body of work turns a keen eye closer to home, celebrating the animals of Minnesota—creatures observed from the window, in local parks, and at the zoo. Through vivid depictions of movement and fleeting moments in nature, Looking Out invites viewers to experience the thrill of a safari while discovering the beauty of the wildlife just outside their door.
