ABOUT

Graphic designer and visual artist from Minnesota, Silent Fox created her own name in 2016 to identify with her artwork. As well as an AFA in fine arts, she holds a BA in studio arts and graphic design. The name 'Silent Fox' comes from her belief that silence allows one to reflect on today's world and creates a journey to discover meaning in life. Upon viewing her artwork you may notice that she uses a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic, digital illustration, and so forth, causing her artwork to be constantly evolving.

Like many artists, Silent Fox began creating and drawing what she loved as a child. She would draw my favorite cartoon characters and in class, she would draw on the side of my notebooks. In retrospect, Fox didn't realize how frequently she was creating until friends and family encouraged her to become an artist. Known for her chill vibes and creative drive, Silent lives a multifaceted lifestyle devoted to visual art and graphic design.

At the outset of her career as a professional and emerging artist, she had questions about her identity; wondering where she belonged or who she was as an artist. Based on her exposure to other artists, Fox feels it is essential in the creative industry to have a style that people can easily relate to and identify with; one that people can identify with and feel connected to. Although it's an excellent opportunity for artists, that's not the kind of artist she likes to be. Leaving her trapped in a position where she knew what she wanted, and knew what she was doing, but questioned whether it was right. As an artist, Silent Fox's work is constantly evolving. Due to the fact that her work is largely exploratory, she has an opportunity to learn and see things she would not have previously known. “Just looking from a new/different perspective is beautiful; you never know what you’re going to see and learn.

In Fox's work, she looks at her own life experience as well as observing and listening to daily life in our time. She takes that knowledge and reflects it into pieces of art. She believes “it’s a magical feeling, allowing me to open my mind and reflect on the wonders of life. To try to understand endless possibilities.” She explores things she doesn’t know, giving her a dive into the ability to access the unknown. Despite how difficult it may be, it's always an efficient way to start a project; not knowing and growing from that. Society has a lot of problems, and while you look at them, you don't know how to handle them. The arts are a great way for me to handle them."

“It’s a magical feeling… to open my mind and reflect on the wonders of life.”
